New Bing Map

22 January 2010 3 Comments

It seems now on Bing Maps, there’s a new application called Local Events which allows you to search for what’s happening around you. You can sort by popularity or date. It lets you filter the search by categories such as music, sports, performing arts, food & dining, and fairs & festivals.

The Destination Maps feature creates a simplified and “themeable” map that is good for party invites or directions.

I like Bing Maps’ Bird Eye View and multiple destination directions feature over Google Map’s, but other than that Google Map is superior and just so much simpler and quicker to use. Also more robust. Still it’s good these map services are differentiating and have varying offers.

I think Google Map’s real estate feature is highly promising and potentially very successful.

i think that Bing is not as good as Google. Google would still index new websites faster than Bing. Microsoft would still need a lot of catching to do with GoogleBot.

I use both Bing and Google search engine and i dont see much difference in their search results. I use google for searching hard to find academic topics and Bing for general search.

it is only a matter of time before Bing Microsoft acquires Yahoo search engine;::
